>>> La Perla collabore avec Jean Paul Gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier's 'rocket cone' corsetry was originally designed for Madonna’s ‘Blonde Ambition’ world tour of 1990
Jean Paul Gaultier, inventor of Madonna's astonishing "rocket cone-bra", is re-launching the look in his first ever collection for the Italian luxury lingerie brand, La Perla.
The outrageous French designer has drawn on a lifetime of taking inspiration from saucy women's underwear; his imagination was first fired when, as a child, he watched his grandmother, a corsetier, at work.
His exclusive 23-piece collection for La Perla not only includes several variations on the "rocket cone" corsetry, in pale 'boudoir pink' and jet-black, originally designed for Madonna's 'Blonde Ambition' world tour of 1990, but an entire wardrobe of seductive and suggestive designs, each one "a celebration of the female body" - and each one, as is Gaultier's signature, designed to be worn underneath or to go-it-alone as party or club-wear.
The collection, in satin, stretch, lace and tulle, which will be launched in the UK next Monday, January 17, at Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, La Perla's Sloane Street boutique, and on Net-a-porter.com, already has a waiting list of more than 150. Bras are priced from £270 to £855, while briefs will cost between £135 and £450.
Outstanding pieces include a scarlet, stretch-satin, 'bra-dress' with metal clasps and a multi-strap 'bondage' back; a black guipure ace bra, corset, suspenders and briefs set; a vintage-look bra with double-straps and satin shoulder-pads; a suspender-belt with satin hip-pads to add extra curves; extra high briefs which hug the silhouette; and bustiers to highlight extreme cleavage.
The collection focusses on the embellishment strengths of La Perla, including a sophisticated technique for creating motifs in silk braid on tulle, and star-shaped back-stitching on satin for the pieces which define the curvaceous, hourglass silhouette so dear to Gaultier. Apart from black, boudoir-pink and red, a selection of pieces are also available in coral and aquamarine.
"Lingerie is part of my DNA and of my heritage," Jean Paul Gaultier said. "It is almost thirty years now since I designed my first corset dress. This collaboration was a natural and logical step, especially since La Perla is the pearl of the lingerie, with a long history and the best savoir-faire."
Alain Prost, La Perla's chief executive officer, described the 'fashion marriage' with Gaultier as "an explosive concentrate of luxury and femininity."
